Evans & Salt Insurance Services was established in 2002 as a result of the merger between two well established local businesses, M&S Insurance Services and Evans Insurance Services (formerly of Whittington Moor). They merged in March 2002.

Simon Evans the owner and managing director started trading in Chesterfield in October 1986 after taking over from Bill Crowther when he retired in 1984. The period he and Bill worked together as Evans & Crowther Insurance Services up to this date gave Simon a good grounding within the Chesterfield community and taught him a valuable lesson of maintaining high service standards set by Bill during the period he traded in Chesterfield since the mid fifties.

This has always been the goal and philosophy of his business. To continually improve the service standards of the business will allow us to succeed and grow.

In 2005 the business expanded after the purchase of another local business, David Slater Insurance Services in Clowne, North Derbyshire. David is a well respected caring pillar of the community who provides a solid and professional service to the local area. With the added benefit of a local Halifax bank facility the business is in the heart of a thriving and growing community.

David Slater Insurance Services takeover fitted perfectly and seamlessly into the existing business. The team is focussed on excellence and delivering insurance solutions to our clients. Both businesses complement each other in this respect.

Our dedication and experienced team of professionals, now in Clowne as well as Chesterfield, offer expert advice on all aspects of insurance and are trained to give good, old fashioned customer service. The advice can be over the phone, or face to face. Either way, it's our personal touch which sets us apart from other brokers.

Both teams are committed to offering the most competitive premiums, fast quotations, a prompt and fair claims service, competitive interest rates on any instalment arrangements and immediate cover facilities.

The Team

The Commercial team is headed by Mark Johnson, the personal Insurance department is headed by Gina West and Christine Salvesen is the Halifax Bank Supervisor at Clowne.

Gina West, oversees areas such as: Motors, Household, Motorcycle, Boat, Caravan, Pet and Legal Expenses. She ensures her highly qualified staff provide customers with an unrivalled service throughout their insurance dealings. Each client is assigned their own dedicated customer service representative to enable them the receive a personal, friendly service each time they contact the office.

Mark Johnson heads the Commercial area of the business. His team deal with Shop/Office, Commercial Combined, Commercial Property, Business Travel, Liability Insurance, Commercial Vehicle, Professional Indemnity, Engineering, Haulage and Goods in Transit, Motor Trade and Fleet, Personal Accident and Risk Management.

Easi Ltd has two Commercial Departments based at our Chesterfield and Clowne branches in Derbyshire. There are six members of staff which consists of Simon Evans (Managing Director), Mark Johnson (Manager), Cliff Toplis (Head of Commercial at Clowne), Richard Hollingsworth (Account Executive Chesterfield), Claire Haslam (Account Executive Chesterfield) and Kirsty Bateman (Account Handler Chesterfield) and Lesley Mitchell (Accounts Executive, Chesterfield).

Commercial Insurance business has been dealt with at both locations for over 30 years each, starting as M&S Insurance in Chesterfield and David Slater Insurance Services in Clowne.

Easi Ltd is a member of a national broker network called COBRA (COmmercial BRoking Alliance), which provides us with the buying power and quoting facilities of a national broker but allows us to maintain independence to use whichever insurers and providers we see fit. This has given us the strength and ability to expand our business and provide our clients with a professional service from qualified staff.

We are very experienced in seeking out quality insurance policies while providing our clients with highly competitive premiums. We can quote for all types of general insurance for clients nationwide.

We have built up a strong reputation over the years by supplying insurance policies alongside excellent customer service. Our aim is to keep our clients and have them recommend us to their friends, colleagues and family; this can only be done if we maintain good relations with our existing customers by providing them with a top class service. We are committed to moving our business forward while keeping the personal touch with our clients. All our clients are designated a specific member of staff to deal with their queries, but all commercial staff will be willing to assist.
